Gender Innovations

Due to inhomogeneities with respect to the ratio of professors vs. ECIs for both male and female members, the Management Committee of the COST Action BM1401 “Raman4Clinics” decided to establish a Mentorship Group. Mentoring is an effective way of promoting early career investigators, especially young female scientists for whom the most difficult inequality still exists. The Mentorship group aims at supporting, guiding and accompanying young scientists choosing a career in research. Therefore, the mentors individually provide the young researchers with advice on career-entry steps, leadership, trainings and, additionally, help to access networks relevant for their careers.
Five senior scientists form the Mentorship group of our COST Action, namely Dr Catherine Kendall, Dr Monica-Maria Baia, Dr Vlasta Mohaček Grošev, Prof Fiona Lyng and Prof Malgorzata Baranska. In order to learn about their careers, hurdles and opportunities, we will portray each mentor within the next months. Stay tuned for interesting insights following these five success stories.
